To regularly check Google’s activity on your blog, it is very important to associate your blog with Google Webmaster Tool. It is easy to add blogs to webmaster tools using plugins in WordPress. But, the blogger blog requires some steps to add and verify the blog in Google webmaster tools. Below is the step by step steps to help you connect your blog to the Google search console/Google webmaster tool.
Steps to add and verify blogger blog to Goggle search console/Google webmaster tool
Step 1: First of all, you have to log in to Goggle search console/Google webmaster tool account using your Gmail ID. Once you log in, you will get a page, as shown below.
Step 2: On this page, we have to add the blog URL. Click on an ADD PROPERTY, as shown below.
Step 3: It will open a pop-up window as below. in this step, you can see two types of domain verification method first one is DNS verification method and the second one is the HTML tag verification method. you have to go either DNS or HTML tag verification method. here I will show you how to verify domain ownership using Meta tag.
(Example: https://yourname.blogspot.com or https://freetechnicaltips.com). Now once you have added your blog URL or domain and click continue. As shown in the image below. Note That: Here I will use the default Blogger Blogspot domain.
Step 4: A pop-up message “ownership auto verified” will appear and click on the Go To Property further HTML tag verification. as shown below.
Step 5: A dashboard will appear to click on setting>>ownership verification.
Step 6: Once you have click ownership verification for your blog, you will come to the below page to verify your ownership of your blog. Here you can see various options to verify your blog ownership. Just click the HTML tag option. It is the best and easiest option to verify your blog. You need to copy the given Meta tag.
Step 7: Once you have copied the Meta tag. Go to your blogger account click on Theme>>Edit HTML button and Paste the copied Meta tag code under the <head></head> section and Save theme as shown in the image below.
Step 8: Now, go back to the Google search console/Google webmaster tool account and click the Verify button.
Finally, It should say successfully verified the blog ownership.
